The best made plans are nothing when the weather gets involved.
Due to extreme weather conditions forecast in the English Channel the GBMSS team took the decision to cancel their planned attempt to swim from Guernsey to Devon.
In spite of their disappointment, a plan B was hastily arranged and they took to the open air water at the Clevedon Marine Lake to complete the original distance.
Tom joined lakeside as head photographer and motivator.
After just over 24 hours swimming, the team finished on Saturday lunchtime. Such a great achievement and despite the change in plans, their efforts shouldn’t be underestimated. For a group of amateur athletes to swim non-stop day and night is incredible.
